You can land at Proserpine on a Friday lunchtime and be in a boat by 3pm. That’s the short version.
The longer version: Airlie’s small enough that everything’s a five-minute walk or a five-minute Uber, and big enough that there’s a venue for every mood. The Lagoon for hangover swims. Magnums and Boom for the messy nights. Mama Africa when the energy drops mid-evening. Coral Sea Marina for the boats. The Foreshore Markets on Saturday morning if you’re up early enough (the bride probably won’t be)
It’s also genuinely warm year-round. Even July averages 24°C. You won’t need a jacket. You will need sunscreen

How a Heart Reef Events Hens Weekend Usually Looks
Most of our groups land Friday and fly out Sunday. A common shape:
Friday afternoon | Check in, drop bags, cocktail making class at the accommodation. Soft launch.
Friday night | Dinner along Shute Harbour Road, then a couple of bars. The Pitch & Wickets if you want a sit-down feel; Magnums, Mama Africa or Boom if you want to lose people for an hour
Saturday day | Day boat from Coral Sea Marina. Six hours later you’re sunburnt, slightly tipsy, and the bride’s said “this is the best day of my life” at least twice.
Saturday night | Either VIP at Boom Nightclub or a private function with bar tab and topless waiter at the accommodation. Depends on the group.</p>
Sunday morning | Bottomless brunch before checkout. Slow, civilised, restorative.
